Color of pomegranate juice, aroma of violets and resin. Raspberry and plum flavors with beef, orange peel, and cedar notes. Finish is peppery with a touch of menthol or cedar. Soft tannins are present. 13% alcohol.

I found this very enjoyable. Worth an extra rating point in my book. The nose is still very muted, but the sour-cherry, raspberry palate went very well with our meal. The body and finish were better than I recall the first time I had it. Would certainly buy more.

Light to medium, beginning-to-brick red. Perfumed but not persistent nose, followed by flavors that are a touch heavy and sweet for Fleurie, with more candy than mineral. But there's meat on the bones of this wine that is most noticeable with chewing. An easy-drinking style that isn't frivolous.

Purchased on recommendation from Karen MacNeil's Wine, Food & Friends book; this is a homestyle autumn recommendation. Good pairing with her meatloaf meal, pgs. 113-114. Light color, herbaceous nose but light tones, easy but balanced fruit and acidity levels, very light tannins. Overall, good pairing for light red meat meals, some chicken dishes in light sauces. Good intro to Beaujolais, although I wonder how the other Fleurie's would do.

Nice, food friendly beaujolais. Cherry red coloring, with very little on the nose. Raspberry, strawberry through the mid-palate. Medium-light finish.
