Intense tropical aroma with notes of vanilla, herbs and oak. Thick, viscous texture with a rich and dense flavor. Mostly tropical fruit flavors - papaya, pineapple, mango, apple, plantain? Citrusy, oaky finish. Complex, well integrated and well balanced - this is drinking great right now.

This non-single vineyard chardonnay from Aubert is fabulous with its smooth tannins and complex notes of butterscotch, stone fruit and light oak with subtle notes of oak on the finish. This punches well above its price point.

Saline and hint of sea and oyster brine. Faint peach and papaya (if I can imagine it). Subtle smokiness and cream on finish. Deliciously unique and classic Aubert.

Followed over three nights. Excellent Chardonnay, as one would expect from Aubert. Served at cellar temp on Day One; a little cooler on days two and three. From memory, so no specifics. Not as well-delineated as Aubert’s SVD offerings, and recognizable Californian by its voluptuous nature—not a bad thing—and thoroughly enjoyable. Could improve with cellar time, but a lovely glass of wine right now.

Second time, even this is above most California Chards... see previous note for details.
