Tasted at the Chateau. Preferred wine of all their cuvees tasted. Cooked apples and toasted almonds on the nose. Nutty and round on the palate with a slight sense of oxidation and bitterness, which actually adds to its appeal as a very food friendly Chenin. Bought a case.

Aromas of white flowers, then ripe pear with hints of almond and honey. Supple and round, but retains a certain freshness on the finish. Delicious now, and in coming years I guess...

Lay & Wheeler Summer tasting: Slightly oxidative and generally rich in style. The nose is gentle - wool, stone fruit - but it's not much fun on the palate. There's a honey note but otherwise it's a bit extracted and drying with a lingering bitterness.

L&W Loire tasting. Need at least 4-5 more years IMO. Not as open as La Jalousie, and but comes across as more austere than the Papillon. I wonder if the concentration of malic acid is higher.
