  • I’ve been trying to reduce some older wines from my cellar and this stood out as a candidate for liquidation. The CT community seems to be split on where this wine is in its development so I was torn on what to do. Since this is Mouvedre dominate which I consider to have midterm age ability then followed by Grenache on the short to midterm side with a dollop of Syrah I decided it was good to go. For me this was in the right place. Sleek red berry fruits with some hints of funk and herbs. Lighter than I anticipated. Consumed over 2 days. Of course I’m curious where this would be in 5 more years but sometimes you just gotta pull the trigger.

  • Despite winery information about wine, it is peaking/peaked with a classical style and not focused on fruit, which is fine given the style of winemaking by the winery. Hints of brown in color but no brown edges (properly cellared so not accelerated). Structured, clean and did well with mushroom risotto.

  • Tasted blind, guessed CdP. Silly smooth. A mix of strawberries and sweet brown flavors (caramel, tobacco, brown figs). Rose in the nose is this wine’s best feature. Overall, good but a little dull for me. Drink now.

  • Excellent, but IMO only just entering its drinking window as I found it needed a lot of air and the final glass on the third night, left in bottle for several nights, drank the best, showing ripe plum, mocha, baking spices, and some brown sugar. The first night with a several hours of air it was soft, velvety, showing more raspberry and just hints of the darker fruits.

I've got a couple more of these. Next one in 2025?

  • A bit tight, dry tannins—thin for age, not a lot of fruit. Disappointing for $95!
