Light ruby in the glass. Very expressive nose with floral notes, ripe strawberry, mint and cherry cough drops. Palate is silky and light with the fruit and florals really shining through to a juicy and yet grippy tannic finish. All of this and yet still distinctly in the AR mold. Very enjoyable on its own and perhaps some potential upside, but I don't see my other two bottles lasting that long.

Arnot-Roberts fall 2022 open house (Healdsburg): a different face for Zinfandel… red (rather than black) fruit dominate in the nose, and delightful citric, floral and herbal notes give it fresh accents. in the mouth the fruit comes thru with clarity rather than power, there's a good lifting acidity, and savoury notes grace the grippy tannins. this will likely be readily drinkable, so not much patience will be needed.
the Kirschenmann vineyard has some small amounts of other varietals interspersed (Carignan, Cinsault), a field blend which undoubtedly enriches the wine.
13.5% AbV; 4 barrels produced; 100% whole cluster

These Arnot your typical zins. Really fruity in a Beaujois kinda way. Might mellow a little with age, not my taste.

The A-R team does such a great job with this feminine, nuanced Lodi old vine vineyard! Very fine now, better in a couple of years.
