Yep. This is just how I like my new world chards - buttery and nutty, with a short smack in the face of oak. Not a lingering monster of it. And some decent acidity to keep it in fit shape. Plenty of complexity (again, the dutch apple and marshmallow) without laying down a blanket in the back of my throat. 91+

Medium yellow, about 10% opaque. Big nosed oak, butter, lemon, dutch apple, and toasted marshmallow aroma. Creamy and yet still crisp on the palate. Heat blew off after 20 min or so and very enjoyable at cellar temp. Finish is outstanding with secondary mixed-nut traits and very long hang time. (4+13+16+8) = 91

Still quite young - lots of lemon oil and granite gravel on the nose, but also a fairly strong steak of oak - more than I usually see in Fred's Chards. Beautifully light on the palate, with nice refreshing lemon acidity and minerality with just a hint of buttery oak on a long finish. I think some more bottle time will do these good.

Flickinger Wines customer Appreciation Tasting (The Racquet Club, Chicago): Yellow color. Aromas of apple and buttered popcorn, with flavors of oak, apple and subtle citrus notes.
