  A matter of taste 2023 - Day 1 (The Dolder Grand, Zurich): *** Brief notes from wine fair, primarily for my own memory ***
  Glass: Stölzle Universal
  Even though I am biased with wines wearing chainmail, I had to try it. Medium golden color. Nose very fine, some ripe, acacia notes. On the palate dense, medium acidity, fresh, spicy, deep, some orange zests, acacia, some honey. Good balance, never hot, good length. Could have been a very fresh C9dP Blanc :) 93

  Starts off with some chardonnay styled notes on the nose along with perhaps some oak qualities? But as it opens up, simply wow! Beautiful and complex nose with a mix of white orchard fruit notes (especially pear and apple) along with spice qualities. Medium bodied (14% ABV) and a mix of Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc. Really impressive complexity, starting with white orchard upfront, gaining depth, layers and nuance through the middle while adding white tropical notes. As this wine showing open up over the course of two hours, it was level upon level of additional notes, swirling and interconnecting. All of this was overlain with excellent acidity which provides the structure for significant future improvement. This was a really unique blend, not like anything I'd tried before. Besides the complexity, the other significant strength was its depth. It has a round, rich mouthfeel but without ever being heavy; always felt balanced. It won't be easy, but it's worth tracking this wine down as I'd love to put some aside for a few years...(Restaurant/winebar Fuoro 51; Sorrento, Italy)
