Quick decant for sediment. Dark purple color. Strong nose of ripe dark fruit but also the alcohol was clearly evident on the nose. Lush mouthfeel with ripe dark fruit and a rich flavor profile but the alcohol was a bit much on the back end and finish. Maybe a longer decant would have helped smooth it out but the heat from the alcohol detracted from this port.

Now this is my style. Initial impressions were of light tannins with a short, bright fruit finish. A little bit of raisin and creme brulee. Good stuff.

An indulgent half bottle at a restaurant in Lisbon this weekend. Slightly madeirised notes on the nose - it can't quite make up its mind if it wants to be a LBV or a Tawney. Better flavour, soft, mature and complex with fruit, oak, liquorice and flowers. Drink up as I don't think this will get any better - it tastes fully mature now.

Dark robe. Still quite tannic and backward. Opening up in the glass. A tad too much alcohol to be truly great. Don't serve too warm (18°C max).
Robe sombre. Encore fort tannique et refermé. S'ouvrant dans le verre. Un rien trop d'alcool pour accéder à l'excellence. Ne pas servir trop chaud (18°C max).

Nice surprise. Fruit well integrated and overall a surprisingly nice experience. Some strong alcohol up front but not unpleasant.
