PnP. Lemon citrus, lime leaf, white peach, flint. Medium body, medium+ acidity, tons of minerality and saline on the palate and finish. Good concentration, a touch of residual sugar, and racy acidity in the finish. As Cadomer said, it's easy to dismiss this as an "entry level," but there's a lot going on here and this will definitely hold and likely improve for several years. Glad I have more.

The last note completely nailed the flavor profile. Asian pear, quince, great brisk acidity, minimal detectable sweetness. Almost drinks like a beer with tongue-tingling refreshment. Day 2: even better as a lip-smacking pithy lemon takes center stage. gave it +1 pt.

I went pretty deep on the wines from the late great Daniel Vollenweider in 2021, so I was excited to open this ‘entry level’ wine from him. I feel like his wines all have a unique perspective and speak in a particularly clear way when it comes to terroir driven notes. This wine tasted decidedly dry, with mouth watering salinity and zingy notes of fresh quince and the freshness of Asian pears. The complexity of this ‘mere entry level’ wine was beautifully complicated by notes of smoke, fresh herbs, and a savory vegetal note that added nuance and interest. This is a serious wine that is not obvious and speaks with a unique and focused perspective. A great introduction to the 2021 release from Vollenweider.
