Compared against 2016 Gomez Cruzado Montes Obaranes. This one has less new oak, more fresh fruit. Enjoyable but less richness and complexity at the moment. Perhaps a nice opportunity to experience viura as a varietal with less winemaking influence?

Bright medium lemon. Floral notes, chamomile, citrus, quince, pineapple, pear, tangerine, brown butter, and vanilla, with good acidity and very good length. Medium(+) body, with an oily texture. Some oak, but good freshness too. Very likeable. And should age well. Good value. There is a lot to like!
