  • moderate depth of color, bright yellow rim. on the nose riper chard fruit aromas, plenty of new oak influence, some malo notes, minimal leesy aromas, some minerals. on the palate high acids, a fleshy midpalate that has a slightly coarse leesy, chalky feel, finishes a bit flatish with moderate alcohol. balanced wine with good length, excellent intensity, very good complexity. not really an intensely finesse driven wine, a few rough textural edges, expresses new world chardonnay very well. not my favorite chard in their lineup but i think a year or two would help it in the bottle

  • Aromas of cream, toast, peach, ripe lemon, pink grapefruit, white flowers. A slight struck match character comes through from the lees contact, On the palate, medium bodied with nice fruit intensity on the attack. On the finish, some minerality and good complexity. At first, I found a slight green note but this evolved rapidly and again I suspect is an artifact of the lees contact - ultimately this adds interesting complexity rather than being off putting inappropriate any sense. Generally, very impressed by this - a sensibility to Burgundy but very much a Californian wine.

  • Pop and pour. Pale straw color. Nose - very shy at first, citrus, white flowers, and saltwater breeze. Palate - med+ acidity, med body, more citrus and grapefruit on the finish.

Day 2 this really opened up. The citrus became much brighter, all the reserved notes from day before became vibrant. If you’re going to open this up today give it some time and you’ll be glad you did.
