7.5% abv. AP 6. Bottle open yesterday. NOSE: Red Delicious apple peel. Ginger. Citrus pith. MOUTH: pitch perfect hook, generously fresh sweetness belonging with significant, broad-spectrum acidity. Roots and aromatic leaves burst open by force of seasonal lemon/lime-ade. Garnish it with fennel and mint. Access is maximized with cold service; north of 60° F it shows its importance.
I'll triangulate with two other Ludes' 2021s: Thörnicher Kabinett and Gackes Unten Feinherb. This item—Gackes Oben Kabinett—is more straightforward and playful than either. Also, it's sweeter, but not insistently. In complexity it rivals GUF, just prettier and more lofted. It doesn't have the inertia of TK, but it thrusts from its root in a way that suggests transformational upside.

Way too young, but I couldn't wait to try my first bottle from this producer. Driving acidity with lovely stuffing. Linear and fairly simple but has the charm to pull off a very nice quaff.

Day 3 or so. Crisp and lively nose of cumin, lime, slate, green, green peas, rocks. Maybe a bit sharp. The palate is somewhat sweeter/deeper. Crisp lime, honey, slate, spices. On the lean side with its acid/sugar balance. It’s very tasty but lack the complexity or extra gear the Spatlese has. Consistently I find that the sweet spot for this estate is Spatlese-Auslese. Nose - 4.5-5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish 4.5-5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15-16/20.

Opened inadvertently—I thought it was 2022. This is the same wine it was in July, q.v. Startling lime drop finish.
