Great QPR from Last Bottle. Needs air, decanting won't hurt this young wine. Consumed over four days in a kitchen counter aging experiment. Perfect cork, easily removed. Dark burgundy color with good clarity. Popped and poured, initially a sharp fruit bomb, but with time and air this balanced wine softened nicely. Aromas and primary flavors of brambly berries, red cherry, and bacon fat that softened nicely by day four without becoming flabby. A well made Rhone blend from Mark Harold Wines with Jon Keyes as winemaker. This wine will age at least 7 years.

This wine introduces itself with the aroma, taste, and feel of damp earth. The silky smooth texture gives way to a dry finish. With notes of leather and plum, this proprietary blend presents with the structure of a classic California zinfandel. Off the charts bold, with tannins that have already begun to mellow.

Pale purple understated berry and plum with notes of chalk, vanilla, lemon. Moderately dry (3.5/5), neutral tannins (2.5/5) and acidity (2.5/5). Decent complement to moderately spicy beef dishes but don’t expect it to be the focus of the dinning experience.
