  • I must begin with this being something a friend who doesn't drink wine had among several bottles in his kitchen and when I saw the date and Languedoc, I thought, "Oh God, this must be dead". I took it and opened it up with dinner. At first I had red fruit and a bacon fat or salami on the nose. After one hour, it had become a beast! It was becoming dark fruit, prunes, still a smoked meat note and eucalyptus, so full in the mouth. Wow. What a surprise! It was gorgeous and one of my favourite wines of the year. I hope someone out there still has one and reads this. Really, I'd say 93, but I'm trying to be restrained with my ratings.

  • Lush. This is very very nice. The taste of the south with a hint of garrigue this is a lovely drop ideal for a warm weekend BBQ

  • Decanted for 1,5 hour.
It's already showing signs of evolution as its colour tends to brick.
This is very ripe on the nose with cassis, cherries mixed with milky chocolate, tobacco and vanilla. I've got some floral components as well....this is really gorgeous on the nose! On the palate, this was initially a bit alcoholic, but it became much softer and round over the dinner. It's full bodied, mouthcoating, balanced, supple with very nice velvety texture. Actually, this wine reminds me a good liqueur.....cherry or Drambuie maybe. This is really good and gets even better considering the price. Excellent!! Drink it now.

  • Same impressions as the last bottle. A wonderfully rustic nose full of earthy and gamy scents, and a powerful, medium-full bodied ride on the palate, with similar gamy, leathery notes and a hint of tar. Not a fruit bomb, nicely structured and should last several years at least. A very interesting, sauvage kind of wine, but not OTT at all. The high level of mourvedre in the blend really gives it panache (A-).
