Open since last pm. Cork perfect. Color dark garnet with some browning edges. Nose dominated by tar and violets Swishing shows both acid and tannin structure. The tannins are brusque. Sipping this shows serious fruit density and this balances the structure. This is serious stuff, great tonight with a hearty dish, and lots of longevity imo

My favorite Barolo of the night. powerful nose with rose petals, nice forest fruit, figs, lots of spiciness, tar and leather. One the few tasting with same characteristics on nose and palate. Lovely structure and complexity. Great future ahead but already drinking wonderfully now.

Eye: deep ruby purple color. Nose: cherries, vanilla, smoke, tobacco. Palate: crisp yet full body, nice fruit, long finish. Very nice after a few years since our visit to the Molino estate.

2004 Barolo (Vin Vino, Palo Alto): Medium color. Nose dominated by pine and other green notes rather than fruit. This is the first wine in the series that shows some sweetness of fruit. Good texture and length, complex, balanced, and fine. Enough structure to give it form without being harsh. Not too big as some of the later wines were. I liked this a lot and would probably rank it second of the six wines tasted.
