WB DC Offline - Mostly Napa (Bistrot Lepic): Deep ruby. Beautiful nose of cherries and cedar. On the palate, high acidity high tannin, medium alcohol, cherries, needs more time.

Decades of Decadence - "The 9's" (Buellton, CA): Aromas of cassis, saddle leather, pine sap, and spices. Rich, round and fleshy secondary/primary palate with good depth and round juicy structure. Showing very well.

Decades of Decadence -- the '9' Edition (Our Favorite Spot in Buellton, CA): Not a style I am drawn to these days (think classic "steakhouse" wine), but drank very well. Youthful and rich, with medium body and some toasted vanilla on the nose. Notes of dark red fruit and some spice. Well balanced by an acid backbone, making this a good accompaniment for food. The CT drinking window seems way too short, by the way.

Very pretty Napa cab. Not super complex or layered but many positive attributes that made it a good match with a dry aged Flannery steak at dinner. Scent of black plum skin, a rose floral note and a touch of green pretty typical of Napa Cabernet. On the palate this is fully integrated with soft ripe tannins, pretty plummy fruit and a bit of glycerol and graphite. Finishes with sweet blackberry fruit and a touch of licorice. I’d drink this now for its pleasures as I don’t see it getting better. The 14.2 % ETOH is in check at this point, but it does finish slightly warm with air. Let this warm a bit and give it a decant before drinking for maximum enjoyment. That really helps this wine to add a bit of weight and complexity that was not evident when first opened.

Cellared since release...another crappy disintegrated aged Ca. cork...still quite youthful with tangy plum skin acidity, dusty oak barrel spiced tannins...sweet and sour liqueured berry fruits with aged plum leading the way. Really tart and sour at first...but air does a number...showing some classic leather and pencil lead, dried currants, anise. Warm plum pudding and dried tea leaves are intriguing...structure seems pretty strong still...but wonder if the sourness will over take the fruit? I'd say another 5yrs then peak...too bad my last bottle of KL in the cellar.
