Lovely Meursault nose of lemon oil and hazelnuts. This is a weighty style of Meursault but with good intensity and complexity on the finish. Quite an oily texture with lots of clove-like spices and dark minerals. Less broad and more pinpoint at least at this stage. Overall, a bit of heaviness and lacks the tingly freshness I want in a young Meursault. Let's see if it changes or opens up a bit in a few more years. 88?

Similar to my prior note. Opened up more on day two. Nose developed more buttery, vanilla, and hazelnut tones. Some spice and white and yellow fruit. On the palate, this has great tension and concentration across ripe white stone fruit, and citrus oil. An underlying minerality with a balanced acidic backbone that gives the wine great lift and energy. Plenty of dry extract along the dense mid palate. Quite a long and spicy finish. Excellent for it’s level.

A deep straw color. Rather yellow for its young age. On the nose, this is masked somewhat and reductive, but with a layer of ripe white orchard and yellow fruits. Honeysuckle, and citrus blossoms. A touch of smoke, and a steely quality in the background. Hazelnut as well. On the palate, this in unctuous and almost oily. Great concentration of citrus fruit and green apple along an undertone of lifting acidity. This has tremendous energy along a powerful, sour citrus and spice driven finish with great length. Concentrated with a depth of dry extract along the mid palate. This is a fairly big wine, but light on it’s feet. Delicious now and should improve with additional bottle age.
