  Delicious wine. Notes of cherry, berry, spice, gravel and a touch of chocolate. A blend of cab franc (39%), cabernet Sauvignon (22%), with the rest a mix of cinsault, merlot, petit verdot and malbe (6%).

  Given the word black on the label I was expecting a dark coloured fruit bomb and was surprised to find this was more true to it's Bdx blend mix of 39pc cab franc and 22pc can with the rest a mix of cinsault, merlot, petit verdot and malbec. Bright dark red. Red berries and cedar oak on the nose. Quite full in terms of weight in the mouth which marks it as outside the french origins of the style but still with good balance and length. Really enjoyable and could hit greater heights still in 2-3+ years. 91-92pts

  Really good wine, ready to drink but should still develop with some years. Lovely ripe berries, some cedar, vanilla even. On the palate, smooth with fine tannins, some leather, tobacco, expresso notes! Nice long finish. Very happy with this!
