  100% Pinot Blanc from a small plot within the Ihringer Winklerberg. Fermented and aged for 15 months in oak barriques. 13,5% alcohol.
  
  Neutral, almost colorless whitish-green appearance. The nose feels surprisingly understated and closed with reticent aromas of sweet white fruits and vague woody tones. The wine feels ripe but also remarkably neutral on the palate with a medium body and very restrained flavors of juicy white fruit, vague appley tones and a hint of stony minerality. The overall feel is otherwise balanced with good sense of structured acidity, but flavor-wise there is very little here. The palate-cleansing finish is crisp and quite neutral with a mild, short aftertaste of ripe white fruit and vague stony mineral tones.
  
  I wonder if this wine is supposed to be this flavorless or if there is something wrong with it? It didn't seem like faulty in any way, just exceptionally understated and borderline flavorless. This is supposed to be a GG Weissburgunder, but it drinks like a cheap Muscadet. I'm pretty confused. As the wine didn't seem flawed, I'm giving it a score, but I'll amend it if it turns out that this was a faulty bottle.
