  • 14.9% alcohol; screw top; cap aroma of metal, stone fruit, berries, even a little rhubarb; medium to long legs, dark maroon/purple; opened, oxygenation hastened via Vinturi, and tasted 15 minutes later at 14 degrees C in a glass designed by Luigi Boromili for Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon; an enchanting nose of the same combination I noticed in the metal cap -- stone and berry fruits + rhubarb; medium to full body, lots of minerals in the background, maybe some forest floor too; hefty tannins well blended with the other components, a good balance of sweet/mineral/sour; long finish continues this balance with little or no upswing of sweetness noticed at the end; pair with umami foods, prepared on a charcoal or gas grill, directly on the metal grill or on boards, preferably of pecan wood
