  • Visit to Woodlands, Margaret River. I have read a lot about Woodlands, however overall this was quite a disssapointing visit, wines lacked any sort of drive; quite linear and weak in the mid-palate, and even though they were well made they all missed a little something. The Woodlands Cabernet Sauvignon was probably the highlight, however at $229 AUD it was a hard pass. At $100 this would be an easy buy

This is more of a second wine from their estate from my understanding, Cab Sauvignon dominated; dark black and red fruits, cedar, sweet spices. crushed florals, palate is slightly creamy, round with fine but structured tannins, good mid-palate depth and a medium finish. The finish is what really disappointed me about all Woodlands wines....
