1992 Etienne Sauzet Puligny Premier Crus (San Francisco): Aromas of dark berry fruit, black cherry, some spice and earth. Nicely resolved on the palate with good acidity and a velvety smooth texture. Somewhat lean and not really complex, but overall nicely balanced with fairly good length. Mature, but should probably hold up for a few years.

Pale to medium garnet color without browning. Musty/mousy at first, but this dissipated. After an initial blast of tart acidity, very pure blackberry fruit poked through, albeit without a lot of complexity, sap, or natural sweetness. Quite lean in the style of the vintage. Very good but not spectacular.
