Decanted this an hour before tasting. Pencil box on the nose, fruit is a bit more subdued than previous bottles, but tannins have softened beautifully. This is a smooth, complex wine now with a full mouth feel and moderate aftertaste length.

Dark purplish in color, great big nose of red and black fruits, with lots of secondary aromas as well...leather, cigar. Pleasant mouth-filling flavors which match the nose, round tannins, long finish. Not sure how one could do much better for 11 bucks- this drinks better than some $25 bottles. Granted...no match for a well aged Bordeaux...but 11 BUCKS???

Definitely past its prime, but the fact that it was still pretty good makes me inclined to try a more recent vintage.
