Community Tasting Notes (2) Median Score: 86 points

  • Popped and poured at a little below room temp. Light gold color. Nose is interesting with white grapefruit, green bean, floral notes, and a little funk comming through. The palate is more of the same with a good bit of green bean, green vegetable going on towards the end, citrus is in there at the front, with some crazy funk in there as well. Decent balance to the wine with the acidity, and the finish is short and there is a flavor towards the back that is really off putting to me. Overall an interesting wine because of the nose, but not really one that I care to drink more than a glass of. Drink. Think this may have been flawed bottle, since the red from the same shipment was definately flawed.

  • Banner Elk Winery Tasting & Other NC Wines; 7/4/2008-7/5/2008: A funky nose I did not find very appealing (unlike floral noses commonly found in the varieatal), but better on the palate with a slightly sweet entry, but finishing drier. Fruit forward flavors of mango with little acidity to balance it out.
