Amrita is a new acquaintance for me. Pinot noir from the hands of Rajat Parr and Sashi Moorman in Arroyo Grande Valley.
Amrita means «nectar of immortality» in Sanskrit - setting the expectations, right there..
Aromatic animal with seductive aromas of cranberry, morel, sweet liquorice, cherry sauce, violet, cola, plus mild notes of cinnamon and cardamom. Ripe red fruit and mild spice dominates the palate. Velvety medium body, and fresh tingling acidity. Nice poise and balance. Medium long with a mild sweet-spicy finish. Quite elegant, and a definite rebuy candidate.
