Day 1 - if blind, I would have guessed a young astringent Loire Pineau d’Aunis, instead of a gamay. Purplish crimson color. Nose consists of lingonberry, Yangmei bayberry, raw apple wood / sawdust, black pepper, dry soil, and menthol. Mouth confirms the nose, the acidity is firm and grippy, tannins are grainy and dry, with somewhat hollow midpalete, followed by some bitterness. Rather short finish with a hint of violet. 12% abv. Not sure if the flatness is from bret or just too young/closed. Would rate 88 for now, deserves further observation.
Day 2 - opening up, still tasting like a Pineau d’Aunis than a gamay, but a better version of it. Technically 89 but still odd. Day 3 - staying flat. More likely Bret. Maybe a off-bottle. 87-88.

Dark purple. Nose leads with wet hay and damp earth, and opens further to pretty purple fruit, slate, and floral notes. Medium to M+ acidity, moderate black tea tannins coat the finish. Muscular Cote de Brouilly, shows plum, dark cherry, and dark minerals on a lingering finish. Excellent, consistently one of the top in the Cru.

I’m with MKS83. Not flawed but not very enjoyable.
