  • This is my first bottle of Eyrie Pinot Noir and I was very interested in trying it. I was very pleasantly surprised by how delicious, silky and elegant it is.

What an expressive nose of pinot fruit. I like the crimson color of the wine too. It has lots of dark red fruits, including strawberries, black cherries, and a little cranberry. It is earthy, spicy and savory with silky tannins along with good acidity.

  • Served with pesto salmon; a richer version of the sisters for sure. Black cherry, raspberry coulis, some floral notes, also a little hint of reduction. The palate is solid and has bigger fruit and spice than usual; good development potential; not as much energy as normal, but still quite nice.

  • Colour: Medium garnet, somewhat opaque in the center, with a fairly wide translucent rim and legs.

Nose: The pinot funk comes out right away with damp earth, mushrooms, incense, and forest floor, along with strawberries, red cherries, and cranberries. There are hints of oak and vanilla, but the oak is well integrated and is not dominating the fruit.

Palate: This is a great mix of earthy tones and fruitiness. Leathery and earthy notes in the beginning, immediately followed up by the red cherries, cranberries, and spices, and is overall balanced by the acidity. Silky tannins with a decently long, spicy, woody finish.

This is a very lovely and complex pinot noir.

  • Nose:
Darker fruit like blackberry, currant. Cinnamon/clove. Wood/incense. Wetness - like you're sitting out on a porch with the rain falling. And the smell of the rain on the plants and soil hits your nose.

    Palate:
Silky texture. Gentle zapping from the acidity. Minimal tannins. Overall structure is nice and balanced. Nose comes through. Juicy dark plum. Finish has a bit of woodiness.

    Serious pinot. Very nice!
