Top shelf Cabernet and surprisingly so with due regard to climate of the region. More fruit forward than the 2016 with a step-up in fruit purity. Never more the medium weight with sweet herbs, ripe green fruits (?), blackberry. Very linear through the palate. Does make you wonder what impact the tiering of the cab and shiraz labels does for the core range.
