dark with ripened berry scents, refreshing acid, very typical merlot, balanced between ripe and dry, nothing involved with this wine is offensive but it is strait-forward, simple yet charming, a drinkable version of merlot

14.5% alcohol; composite cork with an aroma of sour rubber/cork, little or no trace of fruit detectible to the nose; medium weight foil; long legs, dark vermillion color; opened and tasted 15 minutes later at 12 degrees C; nose of alcohol, tannins, sour cherries, whiff of vanilla, maybe a little menthol; full bodied, stone fruit, especially sweet/sour cherries, dryness throughout, to the end of the medium finish; some sweetness, but not well integrated with the other components, almost as if a little hard candy had been thrown into the mix; could be paired with umami flavors, such as ribs or grilled steak, as well as with sweet afternoon or dessert pastries
