Oak, black berry/fruit on the nose and body was light. Great mid palate and full of fruit still with dusty tannins. Great wine with food and was easy to drink and enjoy. A surprise for the age and a cab lovers Merlot.

Associates Wine Dinner (Our House): I normally enjoy the Raymond Reserve but this did not impress tonight. Initially sweet and the berries came through strongly. The body is thinning and a dryish finish.

Lovely fruity nose and body start and then the wine unfortunately dies. Past its prime.

Associates' Forum Wine Dinner (Sean Ballington's Home, Great Falls, VA): softer and rounder than the 2000 Kenwood Merlot tasted before it. some smoke, dry, medium finish. drink up.

Bold berries with a light burnt oak toast coming through. Towards a classic french merlot with dryness in the finish.
