I have to concur with previous posts about this wine. Cork was in great condition. Youthful dark crimson black. Nose of strong, sweet black fruit, cigar, some leather, tobacco, faint menthol, rich in spices, oak library panelling, cassis. Big on perfume and complexity. Palate; juicy sweet black fruit, tannins hardly noticable on the longish balanced finish.. What a wine and still loads of life ahead. Jack Mann would be proud. 94+

Brilliant red colour with some aged hues, very fresh complex aromas of mint, cassis, tobacco leaf, and also terrior which wasn't too distracting-lovely vibrant fresh wine on the palate gentle tannins, elegant but very sweet fruit yet with a Bordeaux like character to the the overall feel and texture

another candidate for WOTN at La Luna Melbourne ( pre covid), the 98 Jack Mann was part of a run of vintages since the first 94 that were all crackers. still way too young but superb drinking. i go as far as saying its as good as 98 Moss Wood. perhaps will not be as long lived but thats semantics. its plush, rich and decadent and full bodied in the mouth and extreme drinking pleasure. a wine to seek out if you can find it.
Auction purchase Cork soaked through but had held on Maroon appearance, slight browning on the edges. A little stinky upon opening but blew off Pencil shaving, leather & tobacco Black currants, black berries Lovely & soft, tannins have completely resolved themselves. In a good spot right now but can't see a huge amount of upside from here. Drink up.

TCA. Nice structure underneath completely buggered by a faulty closure.
