Visits in the Wachau and Kamptal; 10/4/2023-10/5/2023 (In and around the Wachau and Kamptal, Lower Austria): The nose is classic Gruner with deep and layered tones of snow peas, red apples, nectarines, meyer lemons, yellow flowers, pears, smoke, flint, and some mineral notes. This a nose that I just got lost in as it meandered in the glass. The Medium bodied feel is silky and poised with crisp, high acidity that shows off good integration. This is in a wonderful place and still has ample acidity for further aging and development. This is a Gruner that speaks to my soul and really leans into all of the hallmarks that make me love the grape.
