In JH with roast chicken. Good combo certainly in winter and with roast chicken anything works. Interesting blend of zin and carignane. You taste it and that makes it interesting. Good wine with great moderate nose. Wonderful dark reddish color. On palate some smoke, fruit and peppers. Good finish. I like the ridge field blends. No reason to wait longer. Fresh is always good.

Tight and almost sullen initially. A couple hours I noticed a strong shift with the fruit opening, gaining richness and awakening tannin. On night two it seems more Zin forward. The fruit never really shows much complexity. It still needs a couple years to be ready I'd estimate. Whether that will help it become more than just good is debatable.

Going from memory: PnP. So-so upon opening, eventually unfurling a good dose of game and fruit. At this price point, it’s a great bottle. You can’t go wrong with Ridge, really: Their juice runs the gamut of good to I’m-so-glad-to-be-alive-and-have-taste-buds.
