PnP. My first OR gamay, which is kind of weird since I live here and drink a ton of other OR wines. But I've been skeptical of OR gamay because of the pricing vs Beaujolais. But I'm a big fan of the Vincent wines because they're high quality and fairly priced. This is no exception. Nose is cherry, red raspberry, strawberry, and herbs. The nose is bright and fresh like a handful of fresh picked berries. Medium body, medium+ acidity, some tannins in the finish. The high acid makes the wine seem a little leaner and thinner than it is, but the fruit is intensely bright and fresh. I drink a fair amount of Beaujolais (it's likely my second most consumed red after OR pinot noir) and while this doesn't taste like Beaujolais, I gotta say, I really like this (and just like I don't compare OR pinot to Burgundy, I see no reason to compare OR gamay to Beaujolais - even though I just did). It does have a more forward fruit character than a lot of cru Beaujolais, but the intensity and freshness of the fruit just wins me over. This was $24 full retail and in terms of pure enjoyment, it can hold its own with most any gamay in the same price. Well done and definitely worth buying more.

Popped and poured. Sweet/tart aroma of cherry. Rich, subtle flavors of red fruit and a bit of rhubarb. Tart citric finish. Young, firm backbone, well integrated flavors, delicious. Good potential for further development and excellent QPR
