Mercury Mouth ft Becky Wasserman Burgs w/Tim Davey (E&R Wines, Portland OR): The nose is fresh and lifted with tones of apples, pears, meyer lemons, yellow flowers, custard, and vanilla beans. This shows off good depth for the level while showing off balanced orchard fruits. The Medium bodied feel shows off excellent texture and balance with crisp, medium+ acidity. This is a real big winner of a Bourgogne Blanc. It punches well above its weight while showing off a lot of top notch winemaking.

The first vintage by Antoine and I've been very excited to try this. The grapes come from the Mâconnais with 12 months in oak.
The Mâconnais grapes does shine through a bit with a more fat and exotic feel to the fruit, white and yellow flowers and butterscotch. At first there's a lovely bright acidity from lemon, green apple and some unripe fruits, but it does mellow out a bit with time and gives way to a slight bitterness from grapefruit and lemon peel. It feels like the alcohol burn through a little.
Overall it's a lovely Bourgogne Blanc in the price range, but I have a hard time telling if this should have a bit more age to balance out or if it will hurt the acidity and turn more flabby. Good thing I have 2 more to test with.

Nydelig bourgogne blanc med touch av kaprifol over steinete mineralitet. Toner av fat. Ganske fet vin, men har mye syre å gå på. Strålende på alle måter. Ville ikke lagret altfor lenge. 90-91 p

Nice Bourgogne Blanc that has a nice lemon zest taste on the palate.

Mercury Mouth Becky Wasserman Tasting (E&R Wine Shop, Portland, Oregon): Wine 3 of 11. Citrus, super floral (gardenia), sweet fruit, lemon candy - really nice aromatics. Light body, med+ acidity, med+ lingering finish. Nice, silky texture.
