Got this from my dad’s cellar. I suspect one of his last “keepers”. It was delicious. The sweetest Barolo I’ve ever had. Barolo gets sweet? Apparently after 26 years.

My last bottle; a candied note on the nose, like cherry cough syrup.
Good acidity & persistence on the palate - this has aged well. Comes across as fully mature, but doesn't feel tired at all, so who knows how much longer it will hold at this pleasurable level. There are no overripe notes to the fruit, which is something that can affect wines from this warmer vintage.

Dark translucent ruby in the glass; red & black fruits and menthol on the nose, plus a hint of funky undergrowth.
The mix of red & black fruits carries through on the palate - sweet/ripe fruit reflecting the hotter vintage, but not overripe. Lengthy finish. Hard to envision this getting any better than it is right now, but I also don't see any indication of a decline, so feel free to drink or hold.

Not bad, although after that Giacosa, tough to shine.

Similar to the Cavallotto in color; menthol & red fruits on the nose.
Less attractive on the palate - almost feels "pinched", if that makes any sense. Not bad, but inferior to the first wine.
