Somewhat frustrating experience trying this wine (1 of 3 btls I have). Opened and decanted around 5:30pm. First glass ~ hour later was kind of flat/boring with muted oaky presence. Later with dinner it was still in relative same place with some fruit. Later during movie, say 10-11pm was the best, still rich body, with some oak, but now calmed down better depth and showing what i expected in forest/leathery flavors. Has me hopeful (and decanting a lot longer or holding another 5? 10? years, the other 2 and the one btl of CldLR that i have)

French WTDS at Bellecour (Bellecour, Mpls, MN): Light medium red color. This was open for about 4 hours prior to drinking; drank 1+ glass over 2 hours. This was very good also; the nose has dried herbs, funk, floral, lots of red raspberry fruit. The palate has red fruit, tart raspberry, great acidity, nice structure with pretty tannins. This takes on weight and shows sour black cherry and darker raspberry over an hour plus, very long, some nice back end spice notes. Initailly I preferred this to the '01 Remy CdlR, but over time I gave the edge to the Remy. This drinks just a bit younger, but shows nicely now. Easily 93+(+)pts.
