Last note for this wine. Drank this bottle over three days. Dark ruby fruit - currants, blackberry, and dark raspberry. Smooth mid-palate with a nice purity and solid depth/concentration - it picked-up weight on day three. Nice vibrant flavors of cassis, baking spices/licorice, and a little graphite component. Fairly long finish. Decanted for ten hours on day one and revisited on day three. Enjoyable on day one but better on day three as it opened-up further and added some weight. I’m inclined to lay the rest down for another year in light how it showed on day three, however, I also wouldn’t hesitate to slow ox a bottle over a couple days right now or give it a really long decant. As good as any cab that I’ve had for the money over the past year on day three. 100% cab.
Not sure what to think on this one. This is one of the first 2021's I have from Mike where I felt that it was way too early to drink (compared to Myriad and even the Q Kenefick) . This wine tighter than a gnat's arse right now. Not rating as a result as even after 4 hours it was still not showing great. I think the potential is there. But I will wait at least 6 mos before revisiting any of my other bottles.
Dark ruby fruit - currants, dark cherry, blackberry, and dark raspberry. Smooth mid-palate with a nice purity and solid depth/concentration. Nice rich/vibrant flavors of cassis, baking spices/licorice, and a little graphite component. Fairly long finish. Decanted for a couple hours and drank over a couple more. Improved a little with time. However, set some aside for day two and it was better as it opened-up some more. I didn’t buy any of the single vineyard 2021 Pellet cab but it appears to be a nice vintage of that wine along with Kenefick Ranch. 94 on day two. 100% cab.
A Delightful Cab that seems to be gaining traction. 94+/ 95 Points
Day 2: Showing more weight on the palate, more depth of flavors, blue and blackberry fruit, cassis, anise/black licorice-like aspect, real nice extraction.
