Smells like Rioja on the pop and pour with leather, blackberry and nutmeg. After only a few minutes lavender and blueberry aromas emerge. Definitely not rioja. Full bodied but balanced with expressive blueberry, oaky tertiary notes and a chalky mouthfeel. Did become more jammy after a few hours but a delicious and versatile wine. Central coast is a huge appellation and this syrah is more redolent of a higher elevation site or coastal sites rather than the flat agricultural land it is known for. This is widely available in California and is an absolute gem.

A very well-done syrah at the price. Bright red fruits at the core with all the hallmarks of a syrah - fresh cracked pepper, savory smoke and dried herbs.
Not much more you can ask for from a wine at this price point.

One of the best $15 Syrah wines I have had in quite some time. More than worth the price and probably worth twice as much. This has lots of guts, lots of body, lots of color, lots of all the things you look for in a good Syrah. Extremely varietal. A wine to buy by the case, as this is an excellent every day drinker. 5-13-17-8: 93/100.
