Sweet red fruits on the nose with some oak influence On the palate a lil bit abrasive upon the initial pop n pour. Fruit is too powerful but lingers on the finish. Lil bit of alcohol is felt on the mid palate. Really soft tannins sit on the back of the palate. I started this wine a bit colder than recommended serving temp. No decant , just straight out the bottle. Ten min later the wine is already getting better. Lil air is needed to merry the flavors. Tannins have already softened a bit more also

Ordered a glass at a restaurant. 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot from higher elevation vineyards in the Radda district. Garnet color. Notes of black cherries, lavender and pencil lead. Round finish. Fuller bodied. Rarely if ever disappointed by a chianti from this producer. 91 points.

6 Chiantis over 6 days (Castiglion Fiorentino): This did not live to the expectation and was the weakest of all. Day 1 opened with dark cherries and red berries with a feel of overripe fruit and i could not get rid of it throughout the 6 days. Day 2 - Baby fat and dark cherries. Day 3 - best with raspberry compote (88). Drinkable until the end but with that ripe fruit feel. Organic, 13.5% alc.

A lightish, semi-translucent cranberry color. Aroma is strikingly briny. Is it the Mediterranean? Shades of graphite. A vanilla-scented pencil, perhaps. Or maybe fresh tomato sauce. The taste is surprisingly semi-sweet, semi-fruity. Nice balance of acidity and tannins. Solid, and I sense it will continue to improve.

(Imported by Wilson Daniels). Elevation of vyds: 1,300-1,870 ft. Organic viticulture. 90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot. From a great vintage in Tuscany. _______________
Color: Light ruby (which is typical for this wine). A little orange at the rim, already.
Nose: Best here. Pretty aromas of Chianti cherries, crushed berries, flowers, and minerals. But not much complexity.
Pal: Tart cherries and not much substance. Light body. Soft tannins but high acids typical of the grape and region. 13.5% alc.
This is usually one my favorite straight Chianti (along with Castellare di Castellina). And always a great value. Maybe I encountered a "B" bottle? This bottle was not as good as the 2019, or the great 2018 rendition of this wine.
88 pts. Peak drinking: 2024 to 2026. Meant for early drinking.
