  • Oh! I do hate being the first to review a vintage of a wine. I like to stand on the shoulders of giants, but even pygmies will do. I can carefully calibrate what I write based on others and avoid the risk that is expressed in the saying 'better to be silent and seem a fool than to speak and prove it'.

At any rate, this is a very pleasing Riesling (almost rhymes) - there are some reductive elements but they don't seem out of balance to me and whilst there is some ripe apple, there is also a deal of lovely tropical fruits and some lemon. The palate has zing and a sense of slate/wet stone that I like. The acid is fine and whilst, to my palate, perhaps a little fierce, I think most drinkers will not find it so.

Guzzle now and over the next few years. Cellar if you want to take some risks with the reductive elements.
