Popped and poured; enjoyed while playing Cards Against Humanity and therefore, no formal notes. This bottle was a bit different from previous bottles of the 2021 Zinfandel in that it had some noticeable Brett. And while this is clearly not intended, we all found it to be quite charming and a fun outlier. Otherwise, my previous notes from 10/24/2023 still apply.

An interesting wine, for sure. The fruit has a slightly candied quality to it and an herbal edge. It drinks like a wine from sandy soil, but I don't know for sure if it is. Glad I tasted it, but it's not something I'd return to unless I happened across an aged bottle.

Solid if unremarkable. First review holds up, nothing wrong with it but nothing particularly special for my taste, underwhelming compared to some of the stellar Sandlands stuff I’ve had in the past.

Decanted for 1h then back into bottle. Note is 5h after decant. Aromas of brambles, earth, tart and just ripe plums, and brown stems. Palate with tart and ripe blackberries, blueberries, earth, a bit of brambles, baking spices that melded together very well. Nice finish of medicinal herbs, fruit, flowers. Prominent tannins. Enjoyed this and I'm not a usual fan of zinfandel. Nicely done.

I like what Tegan does with this Zin from (I assume) his home vineyard. Light on its feet, good zin intensity and balance.
