Garnet with crimson hue. Nose is quite reductive and also dominated by the elevage in wood. On the palate some roasty notes along with cherry fruit. Also terpenoid notes, probably juniper like, which sometimes becomes dominant. With some air from the glass it gets more nuanced and fruity (cherries). Full of energy. Young and, well for my palate a bit untamed and tannic as well. Nevertheless I guess it has excellent potential and needs a year or so of bottle age, or maybe a decant. -2032. 5/11+/16+/8+. 90 points+, 93-94 not impossible.

Becker's most basic pinot noir (I think) and it costs 14,50 EUR. And it's pretty good for a base wine. Nice clarity and primary fruit, playfulness, nice acidity but it also has substance and even a bit of weight. What it doesn't have is complexity and elegance, but this is why it's a base wine. In the (shamelessly pricey) pinot noir context, this is a good purchase. A high quality everyday pinot which is self-confident and fun. 87+.

Lots of reduction, most Pfalz I ve had recently are filled with those reduction noses... being aware of oxygen is one thing but when thinking it smells like popcorn on Battenfeld... or that one was garlicky is pretty strange
After a while opened, spice, pepper, rd berries, sweet cherry...
Palate is dry, with crispy acidity, zingy orange bloom, oak flavors popping out, some bitty powdery tannins, it's tart and fresh and not stringent but quit biting and grippy, it' ll settle down for sure.
But it's very interesting style after all th pinot I had so far for practice :)
Quite different and interesting altogether
A bit extracted ... long but feel a bit unbalanced
Hold 2/4
