  • Surprisingly, given the screwcap, a bit of seepage from under the capsule, which makes me nervous, but the wine seems intact. Oily citrus and salinity, first impression is of richness, but it turns feather-light in the mouth, persistent but weightless. All about texture.

  • Absolutely fantastic. Everything Putnam said and then some. Truly spectacular that is comes across as ‘dry’ but it isn’t at all, just weightless beauty that only increases is effortless elegance and excitement with time open.

  • 7.5% abv. AP 7. Harvested at 82° Oechsle. 52g of RS and 9.5g of acidity. In other words: a mythical, klassischer Kabinett.
NOSE: subdued, rainwater, cucumber, sporty traces of yeast. Faintly in the background there are the familiar sensations of whole lime, ginger, appleseed, and cut slate. MOUTH: gorgeous, silent attack of satin and salt. Very pure; very transparent. Shimmering in its action. Unfazed weightlessness. Rendered with lime juice that capitulates instantly in a front of savory tea and stony earth. Racy. Beautifully animated and uncomplicated in its persuasive refreshment. It's not dry, but, in a way it is. Really good. If I can acquire more bottles, they'll fit next to inventories of Falkenstein and J.B. Becker. 92+
