Light crimson in color. 14.6% ABV. From Pauline’s Vineyard and Timber Crest Farms. Pretty nose of red fruits, baking spices and earth. Light to medium body with exquisite acidity. Elegant, Claret style Zinfandel. Cherry, strawberry, plum and pepper on the palate. The finish is long and supple. Delicious Zinfandel and one of the best Dry Creek Zins in recent memory. Drink over the next 2-4 years

Wildcard Sunday wine with football, snow and contentment. I always enjoy this offering from Papapietro because it is not jammy or overly fruit, but offers structure and flavor that is more savory. It is a bit tight on opening but unfolds with a bit of time in the glass. Not heavy or brooding, but medium weight. Red fruit predominates with some dark undertones.
