This wine has a very earthy nose with hints of dark chocolate. Robust fruit with bracing acidity. The tannins are not intrusive. It is not complex but the ripe fruit and pronounced acidity should make it work well with a variety of foods. Tonight we served it with Chicken Parmesan and it was an excellent match.

Had this with lamb, but it was too full and powerful a match and would probably better suit a steak. Firm tannins, still quite young. Probably best to keep for a year or two more.

Very ripe plummy fruit on the nose. Just a hint of spice. Very simple though. More of the same with overripe plums and blackberries on the pallet. No tannins or acidity to speak of which are musts for my reds. I was certainly dissapointed; there just needs to be something more there than ripe fruit. Gets better on the second day, with more mineral complexity and the fruit is not so jammy ripe showing that there are tannins down there somewhere. First day score: 82. Second day score: 85

This wine has developed beautifully. Complex and balanced. Anise, spices, white pepper. Impressive for the price.

Popped and poured. Loved it. Soft, complex wine. Smooth. Really enjoyed it. Drink or hold a little longer.
