Strong and powerful nose but its the absolute singing mid palate. Very mineral nose. Darn the Zalto Universal is ticking it up? Opps! Its the 2000 vintage, not 2005.

I really enjoyed this wine even more than the last time I had it. Just so much complexity, and it really is a lot of fun to open! I had this one with food, and it REALLY benefited from it. Pair it with some shellfish, either with a sauce or not, it doesn't matter. The mineral, earthy/mushroom, and subtle fruit components combined with the bright acid make this one an ideal food wine, and it will probably go with just about anything...excluding desert. I do think that there bottle variation in my own experience, but that should not stop you from having this if you ever get the opportunity. The plus side is that each time, this wine will be a unique experience, even from the same vintage.
