Fruity, powerful aromas. Strawberries and thyme, dark cherries and mocha. Cherries on palate with spicy and bright acidity. Maturing and rounder finish. Sweetness does not particularly work well with food even with pork chop and chestnut.

A medium ruby colour with pink tints. Spicy herbal nose of red fruits, strawberries, raspberries, perhaps a little heady? Medium weight on the palate, Waves of lush fruit and fine tannins. Quite powerful. Hits you hard! Nice finish - a touch of mocha. Good length. A really nice example.

NobleRottersSydney - NZTrip - Matterhorn, Wellington (Matterhorn, Wellington): {screwcap, 14%} From a vineyard managed in a joint venture with Felton Rd. A youthful nose of supercharged cherry fruit, with a dark, nutty, almost bitter undertone, and a whiff of some molasses-like sweetness. Despite the florid fruitiness on the palate, there’s an undercurrent of earthy structure. Ripe, with medium chalky tannins, and medium-weight and length, it’s a mostly front-palate wine that should develop some more interest with a few more years age.
