Gave an hour of air and drank over the next two. As always lovely complexity and flavors but this one probably needs more time for me. Just a little too sweet for my Chardonnay palate and probably needs to integrate so that sweetness becomes party if the whole. At this stage I much preferred the ‘22 CIX but I think I will back off my ‘22’s altogether now.
Medium golden yellow in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, peaches & citrus notes of lemons/limes with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle & minerals, stony, some spices & a just a hint of vanilla/oak in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth texture, ripe flavors of apples, pears & lemons/limes with minerals, butter, a hint of honey & a slight notes oak/vanilla in the background. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but has the fruit & structure to continue with its development for additional years if cellared properly at which time it may merit a higher score (95+).
