Inky black with a very dark garnet rim. Opaque. Fairly strong nose, showing vegetal notes and some very dark red fruit (black cherries). Heavy on the palate, almost overbearing. Cassis, black raspberry, dark cherry, some oak and vanilla in the mouth. Shows characteristic South African gaminess under the other flavors. Complex. Good acidity, so the balance is decent. Long finish.
Good pairing with some NY strips.
Drink up now; it's peaking.

59% shiraz 41% cabernet sauvignon. Very explosive dark brooding nose. Nice brambly fruit, black olive, and some earthiness. Nice and smooth on the palate but a little short on the finish. Some sips taste awesome and some seem a bit astringent. Overall pretty darn good for $14.
